I read an article in Forbes that lists 10 communication secrets of great leaders. They are not really secrets. They are mentioned everywhere all the time. They can be summarized as:
- listen to people first, step in their shoes, understand them, speak to each of them while speaking to the group
- get personal with people and make sure that they trust you
- learn how to transfer ideas, inspire people to act, and spread your vision to others while showing serving attitude
- know your subject very well and be specific
- be prepared to change your message on the fly in case the message you are stating does not go through
