A passionate speech by Larry Smith on TED flows down this line of logic in the TED speech:
- Good job is the one that pays, requires huge workload, and person doesn't really like it.
- A Great job is the one a person is passionate about.
- What is passionate?
- "Will you marry me? I am interested in you" ..... guess the response
- This is the response that shows the difference between "I am interested in something" vs "I am passionate about something"
- Once you find your passion, you may stop and not follow of it for different reasons. One of the main reasons - kids.
- Once you have kids, and your kid says that he/she wants to be a performer, you will say that it's too risky, doesn't bring money, etc, etc, etc.
- "Daddy/Mom, why didn't you get a great career?" "Because you were born."...... Is that the answer you will give your child to explain why you didn't get a great career?..
